Mr. Young felt a need to enhance the quality of life for others through gainful employment and to raise the bar of quality in food service programs. In 1982 he formed FDY, Inc., a 100% minority-owned company to service colleges, universities, and business and industry. FDY, Inc. presently serves college, university, and business clients throughout the southeastern United States; from the Nation's Capital to the Carolinas through the Ohio Valley. FDY, Inc. was the first minority-owned company to operate the food service program at Philip Morris, USA in Concord, NC and did so for over 16 years. Local leaders and community organizations have benefited from Mr. Young's philanthropic spirit as he remains focused on his vision of helping others. Currently, his company employs over 300 career-minded men and women.
